Senior Director of Human Resources – USA
to lead the evolution and growth of our U.S. people function as we expand operations in the United-States.
Historically, HR support for Quadra’s U.S. business, QCI, has been delivered through a Canada-based service model. This role represents a pivotal shift toward building a
strong, scalable, and locally embedded HR function in the United States , while remaining closely aligned with Quadra’s broader North American people strategy.
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources in Canada, the Senior Director will be a key member of the U.S. leadership team and a trusted advisor to senior business leaders. This individual will be accountable for shaping the U.S. HR strategy, strengthening culture and leadership capability, ensuring compliance, and building best‑in‑class HR practices to support sustained growth.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR leader with deep U.S. employment expertise, proven M&A experience, and the ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution in a growth‑oriented environment.

What would be your main responsibilities as a Senior Director, Human Resources:
Design and execute a comprehensive U.S. HR strategy aligned with QCI’s business objectives and Quadra’s North American talent philosophy.
Lead the expansion of the U.S. workforce (currently ~100 employees) by building scalable HR frameworks, policies, and programs.
Serve as a core member of the U.S. leadership team, contributing to broader business and growth strategies.
U.S. Employment Law, Compliance & Risk Management (20%)
Act as the primary subject matter expert for U.S. federal, state, and local employment legislation (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, state-specific regulations).
Develop, implement, and maintain compliant HR policies and practices across a multi-state environment.
Proactively identify and mitigate employee relations and compliance risks.
Total Rewards & Talent Programs (20%)
Oversee U.S. total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, payroll, 401k and wellness, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
Partner with Quadra’s centralized HR teams (Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Learning & Development, Total Rewards) to adapt enterprise programs to the U.S. market.
Culture, Engagement & Leadership Partnership (15%)
Champion QCI’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded across the U.S. organization.
Lead employee engagement initiatives, including survey administration, analysis, and action planning in partnership with leadership.
Coach and advise leaders on performance management, organizational effectiveness, change management, and employee relations.
HR Operations & Team Leadership (15%)
Lead, coach, and develop the U.S. HR team, starting with one direct report and scaling as the business grows.
Establish operational excellence across HR processes while leveraging Quadra’s shared services and infrastructure.
Drive consistency where possible across North America while tailoring solutions to U.S. market needs.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) (10%)
Play a leadership role in future acquisition activity, including HR due diligence, risk assessment, and workforce integration.
Lead post-merger integration efforts, ensuring smooth assimilation of new teams into QCI’s culture, HR systems, and total rewards programs.
Partner with Canadian HR and executive leadership to ensure consistency and alignment during integrations.

What is the required experience to have success in this role?
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field is required.
An MBA would be considered an asset.
SHRM-SCP or SPHR
certification is strongly preferred.
Minimum of
15 years
of progressive HR experience, including
4–5+ years
in a Senior HR leadership role supporting
multi-state U.S. operations .
Proven experience advising and supporting C‑suite and executive leadership teams.
Experience within a distribution or manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
Prior experience working within a
cross‑border or global organization , particularly U.S./Canada environments, is strongly preferred.
M&A Expertise:
Demonstrated experience leading HR due diligence and post‑merger integration initiatives.
Deep, practical knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws is required.
Proven experience in HR policy design, implementation, and auditing
Strong experience in benefits and pension program design and administration, including 401(k) plans
Demonstrated experience with HR technology and HRIS platforms (Dayforce experience is an asset).
Working Conditions:
Occasional work outside standard business hours in support of business needs, integrations, or critical issues
Must hold a valid driver’s licence and passport required
Travel requirements of approximately
30–35%
(including international travel)
