Summary of role We are seeking an Organizational Effectiveness & Development (OED) Director. This position is based in Massachusetts and requires on-site presence three days per week. Open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. The Organizational Effectiveness & Development (OED) Director is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for designing and implementing strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness and enable business performance. This role reports to the Head of Learning & Organizational Effectiveness and partners closely with HR Business Partners, L&D Team and business leaders to deliver solutions. You will bring deep expertise in organizational behavior, systems thinking, and change methodologies and partner with us in organizational design, change management, team and leadership effectiveness. The OED Director will also play a critical role in building effective teams, cultivating strong leadership and driving cultural alignment across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities Partner with HR Business Partners, L&D and business leaders to assess organizational effectiveness and recommend solutions that accelerate performance. Develop and execute change management strategies to support business growth and transformations across our business functions. Create best practices and resources the HRBP and business can use and leverage. Design and deliver OED interventions that improve team dynamics, collaboration, and ways of working. Advance process optimization and cross-functional ways of working; improve governance and decision-making. Be a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Business Partners on various OED needs in the business. Drive HR team capability building in the areas of org design, change management and cultural transformation. Create new artifacts (charters, decision matrices, manager guides, templates, playbooks) to scale OED practices. Define success metrics and measurements for OED initiatives, track adoption and business impact. Contribute to the design and delivery of learning & leadership development programs, supporting organizational capability and performance management initiatives. Experience 10+ years in Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness, or related HR Centers of Excellence within complex, high-growth environments. Proven track record supporting large-scale organizational transformations, including restructuring, operating model shifts, and cultural evolution. Demonstrated experience working in global organizations, partnering across regions, time zones, and cultures to drive scalable, enterprise-wide OED and change solutions. History of advising senior leaders and HR Business Partners as a trusted strategic consultant, translating business challenges into OED interventions and capability-building solutions. Deep expertise in change management, including development of change strategies, stakeholder alignment, readiness assessment, communication planning, capability workshops and adoption measurement. Experience designing and facilitating team effectiveness, ways-of-working sessions, leadership offsites, and enterprise workshops. Strong background in organizational diagnostics, including qualitative and quantitative assessments, data synthesis, and insights translation. Proven OD tools, frameworks, templates, and facilitation materials ready to tailor and apply to real business challenges, accelerating solution deployment and impact. Qualifications Advanced degree (MA/MS or PhD) in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, I/O Psychology or related field. Previous industry experience with Life Sciences, Biotech and/or Pharma is preferred. Formal training and/or certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) and related methodologies. Certifications to administer and interpret behavioral assessments (e.g., 360, Hogan, Predictive Index, Myers Briggs) a plus. Strong facilitation, consulting, and project management skills. Able to synthesize complex information into concise narratives and visuals for executive-ready materials. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award.
