FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, GLEN ROSE, TX
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION: MEDIA/COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR (MCD)
EMPLOYMENT: FULL TIME
I Personal Walk
The MCD should demonstrate a Christian lifestyle of a deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ. You are the face of First Baptist Church Glen Rose and will represent FBC to members and non‑members in Christ‑like manner. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. II General
The MCD will help tell the story of what God is doing at FBC Glen Rose and is responsible for ensuring our message is clear, consistent and compelling across all platforms, from the Sunday morning livestream to our social media feeds. This role functions as both a creative leader and strategic director, overseeing church‑wide communications, branding, and digital ministry efforts in support of the church’s mission, vision, and values. III Supervision
The MCD will be under the direct supervision of the Business Administrator, followed by the Senior Pastor. The position is not a stand‑alone function, but an integral part of the church’s overall ministry. The MCD is subject to the employment guidelines as stated in the current Employee Handbook. The MCD will work collaboratively with pastors, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers, serving as a centralized communications resource and internal creative agency for the church. Administrative/Communications
Develop a comprehensive communication plan that supports the church’s ministry calendar, sermon series, and major events, such as Easter, Christmas, etc. Serve as the primary steward of the church’s brand identity, ensuring consistency in visual design, messaging, tone, and storytelling across all platforms and ministries. Document and maintain brand standards and best practices to guide staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders. Audit and improve the “digital front door” (website, Google Maps presence, social media) to ensure new visitors feel welcome before they visit. Provide strategic guidance to church leadership regarding communication priorities, timelines, and messaging alignment. Digital Ministry and Social Media
Manage church accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) creating content that encourages spiritual growth and engagement, not just event promotion. Oversee website structure, navigation, and content quality to ensure usability, accessibility, and clarity for all audiences. Keep the church website up to date with sermon archives, event registrations, and ministry information. Assist in overseeing the video production and livestreaming of Sunday services, ensuring high‑quality audio and video for online viewers. Conceptualize, script, produce, direct, and edit video content including testimonies, promotional videos, vision stories, and ministry highlights. Collaborate with the ministries to create visual assets for service (videos, announcements, worship backgrounds). Capture photography and videography moments during services and events to tell stories of life change. Internal Communications and Ministry Support
Assist in design and distribute weekly email newsletters and digital/print bulletins. Serve as an internal communications partner for ministry leaders, helping them plan, prioritize, and promote events effectively through coordinated campaigns rather than last‑minute requests. Train and support staff and volunteers who assist with website updates, social media, or communications tools, ensuring consistency and quality control. Campaigns, Events, and Planning
Develop creative timelines, content plans, and production workflows for major initiatives to ensure clarity and excellence in execution. Assist with evaluating the effectiveness of communication efforts and making data‑informed improvements over time. Other Responsibilities

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Position involves prolonged standing, sitting, walking, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, talking, and listening. Lifting materials (up to 25 lbs). Requires strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to learn and adapt to changes in technology and equipment. VI Educational Requirements and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Media Production, or related field. 2-5 year+ in a similar field and/or in a church setting preferred. Proficient with various forms of computer software and applications. Advanced degrees may be substituted for some work experience.
