Our client, a newly publicly traded organization, is in need of an interim VP, FP&A.
This is a contract-based executive FP&A leadership role designed for a proven finance operator who can immediately take ownership of enterprise planning, forecasting, and performance management. The consultant will partner directly with the CFO and CEO in a public company environment and serve as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The mandate is straightforward: bring public-company discipline, lead a global FP&A team (~15), and provide clear financial visibility across the business while supporting strategic decision-making in a B2C technology environment.
This engagement requires someone who understands how things have always been done at scale — and can execute accordingly.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
12+ years of Finance / FP&A experience with at least 5+ years in people leadership
Recent public company experience
Direct partnership with CFO and CEO in a public company setting
B2C technology experience
Proven leadership of large teams (this role manages ~15)
Advanced financial modeling and data analysis capabilities
Job Description
Manage full-cycle AR including invoicing, payment application, and collections
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
Establish and lead the full company planning cycle, including long-range planning, annual operating plans, and monthly/quarterly forecasts for the complete Income Statement and Cash Flow
Evaluate progress toward company goals, recommend initiatives, and drive KPI accountability
Executive Partnership
Act as a thought leader across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product to support sound financial decisions and operational efficiency
Partner directly with CFO and CEO on enterprise strategy and execution
Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for Senior Management and Board of Directors
Lead Monthly Business Reviews with structured reporting packages
FP&A Leadership
Lead and develop a global FP&A team of approximately 15
Implement clear FP&A operating rhythms, performance standards, and career architecture
Instill finance discipline and fact-based decision making across the organization in close partnership with Accounting
Analytics & Decision Support
Build analytical tools and financial models to identify trends, variances, and performance levers
Provide rapid ad hoc analysis for executive decisions and contract negotiations
