Overview Job Title: Interim Assistant Athletic Director

Reports to: Associate Athletic Director

Classification: Non-Exempt Hourly (.5 FTE)

Salary Range: $30 - $45 an hour

Position Overview

The Interim Assistant Athletic Director works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Athletics and Director of Athletics to support the organization, administration, and day-to-day operations of Marin Academy’s athletic program. This part-time role is focused on administrative support, equipment and facilities coordination, and home game operations.

This position is expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, generally Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. On-campus hours will mostly be in the afternoons, between 2pm-7pm and does not include coaching responsibilities.

The Interim Assistant Athletic Director reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director and is an active member of the Athletic Department staff. Marin Academy’s athletic program is committed to excellence, healthy competition, and positive athletic experiences for all students.

Communications

Manage and maintain all athletic schedules across platforms (MyMA, Google Calendar)

Confirm contests with opposing schools at the beginning of each season

Distribute weekly athletic schedules to coaches, faulty, and staff

Maintain and update the Athletic Department’s Instagram and X accounts on a weekly basis

Photograph athletic events and games for departmental and school use, as needed

Operations

Support the Director of Athletics and Associate Director of Athletics with day-to-day departmental administration

Attend Athletic Department and school-wide meetings as required.

Lead game-day setup and breakdown for home contests.

Assist with planning and executing major athletic events, including postseason playoffs, spirit days, and the Athletic Awards Banquet.

Oversee inventory, organization, maintenance of athletic equipment and uniforms.

Prepare locker rooms and officials’ areas prior to contests.

Arrange and secure additional game-day operational coverage when needed.

Proficiency in Google Workspace and Excel.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
