Job Description A day in the life of a Large Loss Field Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job! As a Large Loss Field Property Adjuster, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to policyholders. Your primary responsibility will involve traveling to customers’ homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims countrywide using platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your focus will be on water losses to ensure customers receive high-quality support and resolution. Responsibilities
The Customer Service Expert – demonstrate empathy, clear communication, and partnership in every claim. The Investigator – perform detailed reviews of damage and interpret policies to determine coverage. The Effective Communicator – use phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process and keep them updated on progress. The Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third parties, and claimants in line with legal and business standards. The Problem Solver – use multiple tools (estimate tools, job aids, settlement platforms) to complete claims efficiently. The Recorder – document work clearly in the claims system and ensure timely, accurate records and policy adherence. Preferred Qualifications
5-8 years of outside adjuster experience is highly desired. Experience handling claims with multiple trades and over $100,000 in losses. Proficiency in Xactimate and other estimating software. Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages and expedite settlements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service. Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims nationwide. Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on high-quality work. Residency within the posted location is required. Ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with up to a 6/12 pitch. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Training and Licensing
Comprehensive training to build a claims foundation and familiarize you with systems and processes. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement on the job. Approximately 2 weeks of training in Wheeling, IL. Licensing Requirements
Depending on location, you may need to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license and pass a background check. If required, the Hiring Manager will coordinate with you and the Centralized Licensing team to ensure proper licensure within 60 days of hire. Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation offered is $72,000–$115,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits from Day 1, including time off, healthcare, retirement, and more. Annual rewards and professional development opportunities as part of a Total Rewards package. Sign-On Bonus:
You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses for this role.
