Working as part of the fast paced DMV Public Service team examining documentation presented in order to issue multiple types of identification documents as well as titles and registrations. This position requires thorough attention to detail and problem solving, reviewing and explaining driving privileges and regulations. The MVCSR1 will interact directly with the public, often explaining policies, statutes and regulations. Our Organization, Mission, and Culture

The Working Environment You Can Expect

The position is located in our main office inside the University Center on the Old Seward Hwy. in Anchorage, 4001 Ingra St. Ste. 101, Anchorage, AK 99503. The MVCSRI will be assigned to a workstation in the public service lobby. Hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with an hour lunch and possible overtime opportunities. The MVCSR1 may rotate occasionally between Eagle River and Anchorage based on business needs. Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking candidates who possess some or all of the following position-specific competencies: Customer Service : Works with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Computer Skills : Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. Adaptability : Adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment. Arithmetic : Performs computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Problem Solving : Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Six months of employment experience that included cash handling and working directly with clients or customers is required for consideration. Examples include sales cashier, bank teller, or related roles. Alternatively, six months of office clerical employment providing information to clients, customers, or the general public, including data entry or retrieval using computer systems, is acceptable. Substitution Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (three semester hours or four quarter hours equal one month).
