
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Habeas Corpus Immigration Paralegal to join our immigration law firm on a full-time, in-office basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one (1) full year of hands‑on experience handling immigration habeas corpus cases in Federal Court within a law firm environment. This position is not entry‑level and requires direct federal habeas litigation experience. No hybrid or remote work is available.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file immigration habeas corpus petitions in Federal Court.
Draft motions, petitions, memoranda of law, and supporting documentation.
Manage and track Federal Court deadlines and filings.
Conduct legal research related to immigration detention and habeas corpus law.
Maintain organized and accurate case files.
Coordinate closely with attorneys on federal habeas litigation strategy.
Communicate with courts, government agencies, and detention facilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum one (1) full year of experience handling immigration habeas corpus cases.
Federal Court filings and procedures.
Experience must be within an immigration law firm.
Strong understanding of federal habeas corpus procedures and deadlines.
Excellent written communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Ability to commute daily to Brooklyn or Manhattan.
Availability to work full‑time on a long‑term basis. Current students or candidates with upcoming exams should not apply.
Compensation & Benefits
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 yearly, commensurate with experience.
10 paid sick days per year.
