As a Principal UX Designer focusing on the visual experience for millions of fans across the world, you'll be responsible for creating and owning experiences using a multi-disciplinary skillset. You will be a subject matter expert and strategic leader for projects across the organization, encouraging stakeholders to think holistically about the customer experience. You will have an opportunity to relentlessly simplify and distill complex business processes into intuitive and elegant experiences at scale. To be successful you must be a critical, inventive thinker with exceptional design chops, an excitement for understanding and using data, strong leadership abilities, and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively across all levels of the organization. Being a big music fan would be a big plus.
Key responsibilities
Lead and define design vision for complex experiences across Amazon Music
Create process flows, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors
Facilitate work sessions with executive leaders to align on product vision and design direction
Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define requirements, user scenarios and use cases
Champion human-centered design culture and advocate for customer needs across the organization
Develop and nurture relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency
Lead usability testing and create final design and detailed interaction behavior specifications for handoff to engineering teams
Define, evolve, and drive adoption of design guidelines, mechanisms, best practices, processes, and tools
A day in the life In this onsite role, a Principal UX Designer will lead strategic design initiatives that shape the future of Amazon Music. You will drive UX design for high-impact, complex projects from discovery to delivery, working from ambiguous requirements to define design flows, interactions, and content strategies in collaboration with business leaders, engineers, product managers, and other UX designers. You'll mentor design talent, facilitate executive reviews, and set the bar for design excellence across the organization. To be successful, you must be a critical, inventive thinker with exceptional design chops, proven leadership abilities, an excitement for understanding and using data, and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of design experience
An available online portfolio that demonstrates delivering end-to-end experiences for digital services across multiple platforms and devices
8+ years of experience in UX design for consumer facing products
Bachelor's degree or above in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or Associate's degree or above
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree in Design, Information Science, Computer Science/HCI, or a design-related discipline such as cognitive psychology
Proven ability to present strategic rationale for design decisions to executive stakeholders
Lead product designer for large, complex projects that present multidisciplinary challenges
Experience leveraging AI tools in the product design process
Experience designing for AI-enabled features
Experience mentoring and elevating senior-level design talent
Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
Experience in integrating qualitative and quantitative data into design work and iterations
Experience designing for voice and multimodal experiences
Able to take ambiguous design problems and work with stakeholders and user research insights to craft design solutions grounded in customer needs and business goals

Duration: 12 Months
Pay Range: $83 - $90 per hour
Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
