Job Overview Develop and execute comprehensive B2C marketing communication strategies that strengthen the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) brand, support customer lifecycle initiatives, and drive measurable gains in customer loyalty, retention, and engagement. Lead the planning and launch of customer communications in support of quarterly sales programs, core business objectives, and strict regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with MBFS priorities and the overall Mercedes-Benz brand promise. Oversee and foster collaboration between MBFS Marketing and Sales to ensure seamless alignment on campaigns and quarterly sales initiatives, while also coordinating with MBUSA Brand Marketing and MBFS stakeholders to support new product introductions, process launches, and innovative customer experience initiatives. Ensure MBFS messaging is consistently premium and strategically positioned across all external channels, including Tier 1 and Tier 3 CRM campaigns, while actively exploring opportunities for expanded Tier 2 support. Provide governance and compliance oversight, ensuring the fulfilment of privacy policy obligations and mandatory training requirements for key financial services regulations such as ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, and CLA. Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, IT, and cross-functional teams to validate communications, mitigate risks, and safeguard brand and regulatory integrity. Through a blend of strategic foresight, cross-functional leadership, and rigorous compliance management, this role ensures that MBFS marketing communications not only amplify brand equity but also directly support sales growth, elevate the customer journey, and deliver sustained business impact.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the MBFS brand is consistently communicated and positioned with precision and impact across all external communication channels, safeguarding the integrity of the brand while reinforcing its role within the broader Mercedes-Benz ecosystem. Actively align marketing initiatives with MBFS Sales priorities, ensuring that campaigns and communications not only reflect brand values but also directly support sales objectives, quarterly programs, and revenue growth targets. Identify and implement innovative, customer-centric marketing solutions that drive differentiation in the marketplace, advance the business unit’s annual goals, and elevate the overall brand and ownership experience. This includes developing strategies that anticipate evolving customer needs, support the dealer network, and highlight the unique financial products and services offered by MBFS. Guarantee message consistency and premium execution by overseeing both imagery and copy to ensure they convey a brand-appropriate voice, resonate with the end consumer, and reinforce the promise of a seamless Mercedes-Benz experience. By marrying brand stewardship with sales alignment, this role ensures that MBFS communications are not only visually and strategically cohesive but also deliver measurable business impact across the customer journey. Compliance, Legal Collaboration, and Governance – Ensure strict compliance across all customer-facing channels—including digital properties, TV, radio, and IVR—specifically for monthly special offers, marketing disclaimer language, and promotional campaigns. Act as the primary point of contact with the Legal and Compliance teams, partnering closely to validate messaging, mitigate risks, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and transparency in all customer communications. Oversee the continuous review, refinement, and improvement of disclaimers across every platform, ensuring consistency of language, alignment with evolving regulatory requirements, and ease of understanding for the end consumer. Provide proactive recommendations for updates and enhancements to safeguard MBFS against reputational and regulatory risks while maintaining a premium brand experience. Ensure all communications fully adhere to the regulatory framework governing financial institutions, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and the Consumer Leasing Act (CLA). Support internal and external audit requests by maintaining accurate, up-to-date process documentation and by demonstrating rigorous adherence to regulatory standards. By combining compliance stewardship, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement, this role ensures that MBFS marketing communications not only protect the organization but also reinforce its commitment to customer trust, transparency, and excellence. (30%)
Provide expertise in copywriting and messaging to support MBFS Marketing initiatives, including internal and external videos, executive presentations, and campaign communications. Ensure all content reflects a consistent brand voice, strategic priorities, and compliance standards, while translating business objectives into clear and impactful communications for internal and external audiences. (10%)
Support the development and launch of digital property communications endeavors. Oversee marketing content on MBFS digital properties to ensure consistent brand messaging. (10%)
Oversee design and launch of MBFS branded point-of-sale materials, advertising, product brochures, consumer event collateral, and ad-hoc field communications. Oversight of MBFS budget and manage vendor relationships including supporting pricing (with the support of Procurement where applicable) and quality. (10%)
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible positions in sales and/or marketing, and comprehensive business knowledge within the automotive sales finance industry.
