BBC StoryWorks is the commercial content studio of BBC Global News. We partner with brands to create engaging, premium content campaigns that align with the BBC’s trusted journalism and reach desirable American and global audiences across brands including BBC Culture, BBC Earth, BBC Business, BBC Innovation, BBC Travel, BBC Sport, Top Gear, and Bluey.

Purpose of the Role The Social Media Producer for BBC StoryWorks Americas will collaborate across creative strategy, production, design, sales, and marketing teams to integrate social-first thinking into every stage of branded content campaigns, from pre-sale creative development through production. This role ensures social platforms are not just a distribution channel, but a central part of creative strategy and execution. Key and close collaboration with the video/audio producers will ensure that social media creativity is factored into every social media content execution.

Reporting to Executive Creative Director of StoryWorks in the North America region and the Head of Social globally, the Social Media Producer also supports BBC StoryWorks’ own social media presence, particularly on LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube, showcasing our work, promoting thought leadership, and helping position BBC StoryWorks as a leader in the branded content space.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic social media specialist passionate about storytelling and fluent in B2B and B2C social media best practices.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

Develop innovative, social-first creative concepts for branded content campaigns during pre-sales, ensuring social is integrated into overall creative strategies.

Advise sales and creative teams on social trends, formats, and platform best practices to strengthen pitches and proposals. Presence on sales calls with clients as the “social media” expert.

Dedicate around 25% of their role to close collaboration with central performance teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, facilitating knowledge-sharing, and driving joint experimentation across EMEA and APAC markets.

Contribute to marketing tentpole and category deck development providing social media through-starters.

Maintain a proactive social content calendar aligned with launches, campaigns, and events.

Collaborate with strategists, designers, project management, product, data, and editorial teams to ideate on optimized social assets during campaign production.

Lead collaboratively, the holistic distribution strategy inclusive of BBC O&O editorial channels per branded content campaign, to ensure a targeted approach based on real data.

Collaborate with internal teams and clients to recommend paid social strategies that drive engagement and amplification of branded content campaigns.

Act as subject matter expert on LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, and emerging platforms, particularly for B2B and branded content audiences.

Lead the development and execution of BBC StoryWorks’ North America’s owned social media strategy, growing and engaging audiences through thought leadership, showcasing campaigns, and celebrating team successes in collaboration with international regions to produce a consistent approach.

Skills and Experience

5 years of workforce experience in social media production, strategy, or content creation, ideally within branded content, advertising, or publishing.

Experience working on B2B and B2C campaigns and managing corporate social accounts is highly desirable.

Experience with paid social tactics, influencer partnerships, and content distribution strategies.

Experience producing creative assets (images, short videos, motion graphics) for social media required.

Deep understanding of social-first branded content strategy and creative execution.

Expertise in B2B social media marketing, especially on LinkedIn and YouTube.

Ability to create and edit engaging, dynamic visual and video content for social platforms, using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, or native platform editors.

Understanding of paid social media strategies and how to leverage them to amplify branded content campaigns effectively.

Desired Skills

Compensation The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. This does not include other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.
