Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Prepare submittal drawings and documentation for new systems and alterations to existing systems.
Conduct hydraulic analysis of system designs, including sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, municipal supplies, etc.
Secure permits and approvals.
Coordination of fire alarm/sprinkler systems with architectural, structural, and mechanical systems.
Review construction drawings and specifications.
Field survey of both new and existing building.
Attend on site coordination, scheduling, and construction meetings.
Material listing.
Material ordering.
Updating of shop drawings and materials for project record.
Close out procedures.
Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to strategically develop, adapt and streamline processes.
Secures, develops, and maintains working relationships.
Works flexible hours if needed for field survey.
Follow safety rules and good driving habits.
Required Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of fire alarm/fire sprinkler system design, installation, and testing.
Strong understanding of safety codes and regulations (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 13, local building codes).
Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT).
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License.
Auto Cad Certification or equivalent experience.
At least two years’ related experience required.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
Job surveys are performed at various job sites (indoor/outdoor) exposed to the elements.
Ability to negotiate uneven terrain, climb step and extension ladder.
Ability to work in all conditions (Hot/Cold/Humid weather, Small/Cramped Quarters, etc.).
Attention to Detail.
Reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
This role will require you to report to the office and there will not be the opportunity to work remotely.
