Topa Group is partnered with a well-established Fire Protection Contractor serving the Charlotte metro market. We are seeking a skilled
Fire Sprinkler Designer
to design and detail fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects. This role focuses on code-compliant design, coordination with project teams, and producing high-quality construction documents.
Key Responsibilities
Design fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local AHJ requirements.
Prepare detailed shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists.
Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure proper system layout and coordination.
Coordinate designs with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and other trades.
Revise drawings based on field conditions, RFIs, and AHJ comments.
Support project teams through permitting, fabrication, and installation phases.
Maintain accurate project documentation and meet design schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience designing fire sprinkler systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and sprinkler design software (e.g., HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD).
Strong understanding of NFPA standards, hydraulic calculations, and local code requirements.
Experience with commercial, industrial, or multi-family projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
NICET Level II or III (or ability to obtain) strongly preferred.
