Responsibilities
The Account Manager drives profitable sales growth and manages the sales process for an assigned territory, serving both existing and new Airgas customers. This role involves selling a range of products, including industrial, medical, and specialty gases and equipment, welding products, tools, hardware, and safety products. Additionally, Account Managers are responsible for consistent communication with District, Branch, Sales, and Plant Managers to ensure complete customer service and satisfaction.
Develops and executes sales plans utilizing Airgas' sales directives and guidelines in order to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualifies and pursues sales leads.
Cultivates customer relationships by developing a deep knowledge of the customer's business and establishing a consultative relationship.
Engages customers by linking the customer's business priorities to the Airgas value proposition.
Prepares sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimated date of delivery to customers based on knowledge of Airgas' production/delivery schedules and logistics.
Keeps current with industry insights, current Airgas product mixes, monitors competition by gathering current relevant marketplace intelligence including information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
Partners with internal resources to accomplish growth objectives. Establishes and maintains clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer opportunities, new customer developments and other customer specific information.
Maintains and submits sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses) as required by District Manager through SAP.
Actively reviews and manages existing customer Accounts Receivable balances to help minimize Airgas working capital investment and financial risk.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company
Must be able to use a computer and have a working understanding of Word, Excel, SAP, etc.
Must present a professional presence and demeanor that is reflective of a corporate office environment.
Must have a high level of energy, be as self-starter, and have a strong customer service and relationship orientation.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational and time management skills.
Minimum of 3 years of prior outside business-to-business sales experience to include proven experience and success in solution-selling concept and a demonstrated history of managing customers throughout a defined sales territory.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supply and hardware desired
Proven change management skills, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management
Ability to multi-task in a high volume setting.
Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates and management.
Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, industrial gas/welding supplies sales a plus.
