Job Title: Outside Sales Representative - Plumbing & Hardware
Location: High Point, NC
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday 8-5
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team at one of the Triad’s longest-standing businesses. This role focuses on promoting and selling plumbing and hardware products to new and existing customers, including contractors, businesses, and retail clients. While experience is a plus, we value aptitude and a willingness to learn above all, and product training is available.
This position requires frequent overnight travel to visit clients, attend trade shows, and build relationships across the region. A reliable vehicle and a passion for sales are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and pursue new sales opportunities within the plumbing and hardware market.
Possess a deep understanding of plumbing and hardware products to effectively sell and advise customers on the best solutions for their needs.
Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, addressing issues, and closing sales.
Travel overnight as needed to meet customers, attend industry events, and explore new business opportunities, including some weekend travel.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and progress toward sales targets in the CRM system.
Provide product demonstrations and technical expertise to customers, ensuring they are well-informed about product specifications and benefits.
Effectively negotiate terms and prices with customers while meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Work closely with the internal team, including customer service and management, to ensure a smooth sales process and timely delivery of products.
Qualifications
Preference for familiarity with plumbing and hardware products, including tools, fixtures, piping, valves, and related equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and build relationships.
Strong negotiation, closing, and relationship-building skills.
Must be willing and able to travel overnight as needed for customer visits and industry events; reliable transportation required.
Proficient in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools.
Must have a clean driving record and reliable vehicle for frequent travel.
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule while meeting deadlines and sales targets.
Additional Information Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission.
