
The Director of Technology provides strategic, operational, and technical leadership for the organizations Information Systems division. This role oversees enterprise technology operations, clinical application portfolios, infrastructure planning, and digital innovation initiatives. The Director ensures that technology solutions are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goalswhile leading a high?performing team of IT professionals responsible for mission?critical systems across the health system.

Care Everywhere, CareLink, Compass Rose, and Healthy Planet , ensuring seamless interoperability, optimized workflows, and strong support for clinical and operational stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Technology Vision Develop and execute the organizations multi?year technology strategy, ensuring alignment with clinical, operational, and business objectives. Lead enterprise planning for digital transformation, interoperability, and data?driven care initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on emerging technologies, system modernization, and innovation opportunities. Operational & Departmental Management Oversee daily operations of the Information Systems department, including application management, infrastructure services, and technical support. Plan, prioritize, and direct all projects, assignments, and technology initiatives across the enterprise. Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. Establish departmental performance metrics, quality benchmarks, and continuous improvement processes. Clinical Application Ownership Provide executive oversight for key clinical applications, including
Care Everywhere, CareLink, Compass Rose, and Healthy Planet , ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and user satisfaction. Guide integration strategies, interoperability workflows, and data exchange initiatives across the health system. Partner with clinical and operational leaders to evaluate needs, streamline workflows, and support population health, care coordination, and referral management programs. Technical Expertise & Problem Resolution Offer high?level technical guidance on complex issues involving systems architecture, application development, and infrastructure design. Lead root?cause analysis and resolution of escalated technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations. Promote a culture of proactive research, innovation, and technical excellence. Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of highly skilled IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high?performance culture. Provide coaching, conflict resolution, and professional development opportunities for staff at all levels. Oversee training programs to ensure team competency in current and emerging technologies. Stakeholder, Vendor & Customer Engagement Serve as the primary liaison between IT, clinical operations, business units, and external partners. Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance oversight for technology partners. Ensure exceptional customer service and support for internal and external stakeholders. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and change management processes for major technology initiatives. Maintain a secure, stable, and compliant technology environment that supports safe patient care. Qualifications Required Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a clinical discipline, or related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of progressively responsible experience managing large?scale IT operations or enterprise technology environments. Demonstrated expertise in application management, systems architecture, and complex problem solving. Proven experience leading teams, managing projects, and driving organizational change. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Preferred Experience in healthcare IT leadership roles. Familiarity with Epic modules and clinical workflows, including Care Everywhere, CareLink, Compass Rose, and Healthy Planet. Experience with interoperability, population health tools, and multi?system integrations. Advanced certifications in IT leadership, project management, or healthcare technology.
