The successful candidate will be a strategic communicator and media relations expert with a proven track record in placing high-impact stories, shaping narratives, and managing media relations for complex or politically charged campaigns. This role is pivotal in leading earned media strategy and execution across various client accounts, particularly those at the intersection of policy, business, and public opinion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public affairs or political communications, deep relationships within the conservative media ecosystem, and a sharp understanding of the current media and political landscape.
Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Earned Media include serving as the strategic lead for earned media across multiple client accounts, cultivating relationships with conservative and center-right media outlets, and developing proactive media outreach strategies. The role also involves providing rapid response and crisis communications support, mentoring junior staff, and supporting new business development. The candidate should have 10-13 years' of relevant experience, demonstrated expertise in placing earned media with conservative outlets, and excellent strategic judgment. Impeccable writing and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage teams and execute projects from concept to completion. Familiarity with political, policy, or advocacy work is strongly preferred.
