Retail Store Manager

Grand Appliance & TV is seeking a hands-on Retail Store Manager for our Waukegan location. This role is centered on running the store, leading the team, and ensuring that every customer who walks through the door is immediately supported. What This Role Is Really About

1. Walk-In Customers & Store Readiness (Top Priority) Ensure the showroom is fully staffed, customer-ready, and welcoming at all times Make certain walk-in customers are greeted promptly and assisted without delay Help customers that come in having issues with their products/delivery/set up service/work with customer service Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroominside, outside, and throughout all display areas Conduct daily store walkthroughs and address appearance, maintenance, or safety issues immediately Oversee merchandising changes, product refreshes, closeouts, and returns (work with the Merchandising Team) Coordinate store repairs, improvements, and small remodel projects Store volume starts with customers being helped the moment they walk inand this is priority #1. 2. Team Leadership & Coverage Interview and support new and existing associates Create weekly schedules with a strong focus on coverage during peak walk-in traffic Approve PTO requests and ensure schedules are submitted accurately and on time Coach and develop associates on sales behaviors, customer engagement, and accountability Support performance reviews and corrective action when necessary The core of this role is leading people, setting expectations, and building a strong, reliable team. 3. Customer Service Oversight Step in to assist with escalated customer concerns and resolution Review daily priorities including open orders, open service tickets, COD lists, and follow-ups Ensure consistent, high-quality service for every customer interaction 4. Sales Support Support sales activity as needed during high traffic or staffing gaps Personal selling is a HUGE and primary expectationyour role is to manage, support, and drive overall store results 5. Reporting, Training & Coordination Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reporting Ensure nightly deposits are accurate and submitted to the corporate office Lead short daily morning huddles to review results, goals, and priorities Coordinate vendor and corporate training sessions for store staff Attend quarterly manager meetings at the corporate headquarters What You Bring

Proven leadership experience with the ability to guide and motivate a team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Hands-on approach to store operations, appearance, and customer experience Friendly, professional, customer-centered mindset Ability to manage and develop a team of 5+ associates Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and retail systems Previous Retail Store Manager or similar leadership experience required Appliance or electronics experience helpful, but not required Spanish-speaking ability strongly preferred to support our diverse Waukegan customer base Bachelor's degree preferred Core Competencies
