Senior Commercial Credit Officer
Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Senior Commercial Credit Officer for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.
Responsibilities
- Deep understanding of SBA credit program and guidelines
- Experience within a preferred lender
- Maintain loan production while ensuring compliance with all applicable risk policies, procedures and mitigants
- Evaluate loan transactions and portfolios across the bank’s Small Business Banking lending groups
- Participate in a collective process that aims to produce sound credit decisions and add appropriately structured loans to support the Bank’s growth and loan generation goals
- Review and approve credit requests within individual authority, adhering to Bank and regulatory guidelines (FDIC, SBA, and USDA)
- Help with credit functions within the Credit Team
- Use credit training, underwriting experience, and knowledge of lending policies to provide detailed loan transaction analysis
- Collaborate with departments involved in loan production to ensure smooth execution
- Connect with risk and portfolio management teams to monitor and maintain accurate risk ratings across the loan portfolio
- Sustain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
Qualifications
- 5+ years of financial analysis including underwriting of commercial loan credits
- 3+ years of experience decisioning commercial loan credit approvals
- In-depth knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and criteria
- In-depth knowledge of SBA, USDA, and other Government program guidelines
- Commercial lending and sales experience preferred
