A Day in the Life:
In the position of Director, Channel Strategy , you will serve as a key strategic business partner to the Revenue Growth Management, Commercial and Portfolio Strategy, Sales, and Marketing teams. You will translate enterprise‑level OBPPC, package, and channel strategies—set by the Sr Director, Package & Channel Strategy—into channel‑specific plans and execution frameworks.
You will develop insights, identify growth opportunities, and create data‑driven strategies that elevate performance, improve customer execution, and optimize volume, share, and profitability across priority channels. This role plays a central part in ensuring the long‑term strategic sales and distribution plan is executed effectively within channels and addressing the opportunities in the competitive landscape and bottler network.
The Impact You\'ll Make:
Strategic Channel Planning
- Translate enterprise OBPPC and portfolio strategies into actionable channel‑specific strategies , including opportunity identification and mid‑term growth plans.
- Analyze marketplace, retailer performance, and consumer dynamics to determine the most effective strategies to drive channel revenue, share, and penetration.
- Maintain a deep understanding of channel nuances to recommend tailored pricing, packaging, assortment, and promotional strategy adjustments.
- Develop channel execution toolkits, and guidance to enable customer teams, bottlers, and field sales to activate strategies successfully.
- Partner with Revenue Growth Management to ensure channel plans align with broader portfolio guardrails and margin expectations.
- Support translation of channel plans into Customer Execution Plans and contribute to Joint Business Plan inputs.
Insights & Analytics
- Leverage tools such as Nielsen, VIP, and internal data sources to identify trends, whitespace, and competitive threats.
- Monitor performance against strategic initiatives and channel KPIs; recommend pivots as needed based on real‑time learnings.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, RGM, Category Insights, and Channel Sales teams to ensure alignment and integrated planning.
- Provide channel subject‑matter expertise to internal partners to support business case development, new package introductions, and innovation pathways.
Strategic Communication
- Synthesize insights and recommendations into clear narratives for leadership, customer teams, and cross‑functional partners.
- Ensure senior management is informed on channel performance, risks, and opportunities.
Who You Are
- Prefer a Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field. Additional Experience Desired: More than 7 years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. Additional Experience Desired: More than 5 years of experience in Commercial Planning.
- Computer Skills Desired: Proficient in Microsoft Applications. Preferred Certifications: N/A
- Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Nielsen, IRI, Consumer Insights
Monster Energy provides a competitive total compensation; this position has an annual estimated salary of $114,000-$152,000. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
