An inpatient behavioral health hospital is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy + Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
This role blends leadership with hands-on clinical responsibilities, supporting a multidisciplinary care team in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations and staffing continuity
- Staff as a pharmacist 2–3 days per week (order verification, product verification, provider collaboration)
- Lead quarterly P&T meetings and contribute to Medical Executive meetings
- Manage controlled substance audits and medication compliance
- Oversee Omnicell automation and troubleshoot as needed
- Support antimicrobial stewardship and monthly reporting
- Manage medication ordering, including free trial and long-acting injection programs
- 162 licensed beds | Average daily census ~140
- Behavioral health inpatient setting
- Order Entry System: HCS Web (training provided)
- Automation: Omnicell (Pyxis experience acceptable)
- Onsite training with outgoing Director of Pharmacy
- Established telepharmacy model
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 7:30am–4:00pm
- Occasional weekend coverage (weekday comp provided)
Requirements
- Eligible and willing to serve as PIC
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience
- Omnicell or Pyxis experience preferred
