The ideal candidate will represent clients in various legal matters, including but not limited to criminal defense, family law, and personal injury cases. This role requires a strong understanding of the law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to litigate effectively on behalf of clients. The Public Defender will work closely with clients to ensure their rights are protected and that they receive fair representation in court.

*Responsibilities*

* Represent clients in criminal defense cases, ensuring their rights are upheld throughout the legal process. * Negotiate plea deals and settlements with opposing counsel. * Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to prepare for cases. * Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings. * Litigate cases in court, presenting evidence and arguments effectively. * Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to workers' compensation law and tribal law regulations. * Collaborate with other attorneys within the law office to strategize case approaches. * Provide legal advice and support to clients regarding family law matters.

*Requirements*

* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. * Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. * Strong knowledge of personal injury law, family law, and workers' compensation law. * Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw. * Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence. * Proven ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients. * Experience litigating cases in court is preferred. * Familiarity with tribal law regulations is a plus. * Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. xhqgsiq

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $86,197.00 - $115,512.00 per year
