Credit Officer Job Summary The Credit Officer is responsible for analyzing financial statements and tax returns of potential and current loan customers. This role involves preparing financial spreads containing calculations and ratios used to make informed credit decisions for the bank. The Credit Officer evaluates the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit and ensures loan quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze financial statements and tax returns for potential and current loan customers.

Prepare financial spreads with calculations and ratios to support credit decision-making.

Evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit.

Review consumer and commercial loans for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Prepare documentation of loan files for watchlist classification and ongoing loan relationship monitoring.

Manage the appraisal ordering and review process in accordance with bank policy and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or business-related field of study.

Strong analytical skills with experience in financial statement and tax return analysis.

Knowledge of credit risk assessment and loan documentation requirements.

Familiarity with consumer and commercial loan products and regulatory compliance.

Ability to prepare detailed financial spreads and credit reports.

Experience managing appraisal processes and understanding of related regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
