Overview
Oakridge Country Club is seeking a full-time/seasonal (April - October) horticulture assistant for the golf course maintenance staff. The primary role of the assistant will be working with the horticulturalist in daily maintenance of landscape beds around the clubhouse and throughout the course. Our goal at Oakridge is to provide the membership and guests with a quality golf experience. Responsibilities
Assist with planting and seasonal care of annuals, perennials, and shrubs. Maintain beds by weeding, mulching, and debris cleanup. Ability to safely use outdoor equipment such as: weed eaters, hedge trimmers and utility carts. Perform visual checks on irrigation and assist with small repairs and maintenance. General grounds maintenance for the course will be required at times including: bunker raking, leaf and debris removal, and special projects. Maintain clear communication with supervisors about tasks, issues and progress. Qualifications
Basic plant care and identification required. 2+ years work experience in landscape maintenance, greenhouses or related fields preferred. Horticulture degree or certificate preferred, but not necessary. Basic golf course knowledge is beneficial. Additional Information
Expectations:
Work takes place outdoors where you will be expected to work in all weather conditions including high heat, rain and cold. You will need to dress accordingly. Landscape maintenance is physical and requires you to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Early mornings, some weekends, and holidays may be required due to the schedule of golf course events. Being regularly on time is a must. Able to work solo or with a group, be accepting of directions and have a good attitude while working. Benefits
