
Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist provides operational and administrative support across multiple HR functions, including employment lifecycle processes, personnel records, recruitment support, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives. Working under direct supervision, this role ensures HR operations run smoothly and in compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements. The position also supports internal programs, reporting, audits, and systems critical to effective HR department operations.
Job Requirements
Banking experience preferred
Support day-to-day HR operations and employment lifecycle processes
Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, billing, reconciliations, and COBRA reporting
Provide payroll support and generate HR and ADP reports
Maintain accurate personnel records and departmental documentation
Support recruitment efforts and verify employment eligibility (I-9, E-Verify, OFAC)
Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, internal events, and training programs
Support internal audits, SOX reviews, and compliance requirements
Utilize HR systems and platforms including ADP, OnBase, Talent Center, and related tools
Ensure compliance with Federal and State labor laws and internal policies
Provide cross-functional HR support and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Banking experience strongly preferred
If no banking experience, background in accounting, legal, or a large Fortune 500 organization
Prior experience in human resources, including benefits administration and payroll support
Bachelor’s degree highly preferred (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
Highly professional, articulate, and polished communication style
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
