Overview
Supervisor of Inside Sales Advisors will lead a team of Inside Sales Advisors who engage in direct selling, cross selling, and up selling BCBSKS products that meet the needs of our customers. Through strong leadership and coaching, the Supervisor of Inside Sales Advisors ensures that their team offers a customer experience on every call that is consistent with the BCBSKS values and principles, while promoting and selling products. What you’ll do
People Leadership & Supervision: Full people-management responsibility including hiring, performance management, coaching, development, discipline, terminations, promotions, and back up the manager as needed. Coaching, Training & Development: Identify performance gaps and training needs; create, document, and execute coaching plans; develop and deliver sales training materials; follow up on action plans. Sales Performance & Quality Oversight: Ensure Sales Advisors consistently meet company performance standards and MTM goals through monitoring, root-cause analysis, quality initiatives, and ongoing coaching. Customer & Escalation Management: Handle escalated customer inquiries professionally; intervene in complex cases; make management-level decisions and exceptions when required. Sales Effectiveness & Product Integrity: Monitor advisor interactions to ensure accurate product representation; evaluate effectiveness of sales materials and processes to improve the customer sales experience. Systems, Tools & Analytics: Utilize multiple systems and platforms (e.g., Avaya, Verint, Tableau, databases, and Microsoft applications) to monitor performance, track metrics, and optimize efficiency. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between Individual Sales and other departments; support timely resolution of inquiries; represent the department in meetings. Compliance, Licensing & Security: Obtain and maintain applicable insurance licenses; ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, confidentiality, data security, and business continuity standards. Operational & Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate documentation, performance tracking, and reporting; support special projects; ensure regular attendance and professional conduct. Team Engagement & Business Support: Promote a positive company image; work effectively both independently and within a team; step into sales or supervisory roles when business needs require. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Regulatory & Product Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Senior Market benefits, multiple lines of business, and applicable State and Federal regulations, including Medicare, CMS, and compliance requirements. Licensing & Certification: Ability to obtain and maintain a Kansas Health and Life Insurance license and annual Part D/Medicare Advantage certifications. Technical & Systems Proficiency: Strong PC skills with the ability to effectively use and learn multiple business systems, databases, call-recording tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. Leadership, Coaching & Development: Proven ability to motivate, coach, train, and develop employees while building high-performing teams and fostering cross-departmental collaboration. Customer Focus & Problem Resolution: Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
