Duties Provides the lifeguards and recreation aides directions on assignments, verbally and in writing. Reports the time each staff member reports to work. Conducts practical water tests and emergency drills to ensure the skills of lifeguards and instructors are proficient. Monitors swimming classes, maintains order in swim areas, and may officiate at swimming meets. May be responsible for planning and scheduling of employees. May perform lifeguard and swimming instructor duties and assist to ensure safe, efficient operations of the beach boat operations. Reports dangerous or unusual situations to supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work is outdoors in hot weather with exposure to direct sun; SPF 15 recommended. Physical exertion is minimal on routine assignments and varies for lifesaving. May work evenings, weekends and holidays.
