The Opportunity Join CNBC at the forefront of an emerging news beat. As prediction markets reshape how we understand and forecast business and political events, we are looking for a producer/writer to cover Kalshi and the broader prediction market ecosystem. You will translate market movements into compelling stories for both our digital platforms and television broadcasts.

What You'll Do Content Creation & Reporting

Write data-driven stories about Kalshi market contracts and prediction market trends for CNBC's digital outlets

Monitor Kalshi marketplaces with focus on business and political developments

Research and conduct interviews to provide context and analysis on market movements

Pitch original story ideas and execute assignments from the editorial planning team

Television Production

Produce segments from concept to air, collaborating with show teams and digital editors

Update guest tracking systems, coordinate feeds, and manage booking logistics

Create graphics packages and source relevant video elements

Prepare pre-interview briefs for reporters and anchors, ensuring accuracy in all details

Ensure compliance with CNBC's booking policies and editorial standards

Cross-Platform Collaboration

Work seamlessly between digital and television newsrooms

Contribute to social media coverage during breaking news moments

Build relationships with producers, reporters, and editorial planning teams

Flag upcoming events and market-moving developments in your coverage area

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $100,000-$115,000

Qualifications Required:

Minimum 2 years of reporting experience in live television or fast-paced digital news environments

Proven ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines across multiple teams

Strong news judgment and editorial instincts

Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience with live, breaking news reporting

Deep interest in business news and financial markets

You'll Stand Out With

Experience covering emerging markets, economic sectors, or gambling/odds-making industries

Track record of breaking stories or developing unique angles on complex topics

Familiarity with data journalism or statistical concepts

Experience producing for both digital and broadcast platforms
