
Strategic Account Manager - Remote -Bay Area

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for all sales activities for the assigned strategic account sites in the Pacific Northwest Region. An essential part of this role is relationship building with the technical and procurement teams within the strategic account and cross-functionally within the internal regional and global sales team at Sartorius. Additionally, the active use of Salesforce to manage sales activities and customer interactions effectively is a key enabler for this role to achieve individual/team Sartorius sales targets.
What You Will Accomplish Together With Us
Promote Sartorius products and services within the assigned strategic account sites to achieve sales targets and gain market share
Manage existing business and identify new business opportunities to suggest products/services aligned with Sartorius and the customer market and growth strategy
Reporting: Actively use Salesforce to manage and document sales life cycle activities including leads, opportunities, customer interactions and to accurately forecast existing and future business
Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic account plan to achieve sales targets and request and coordinate resources
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal regional and global teams (R&D Sales, SUTEs, FAS, Quality) to create successful strategies to maintain existing business and gain new business from the account
Client Relationship Management: Spend ~50% or more time in the field to develop and maintain strong customer relationships for long-term partnership and act as the primary point of contact for all account-related inquiries and issues
Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product offerings. Coordinate and participate in marketing activities (demos, product presentations, Sartorius day) in the strategic account.
What Will Convince Us
Bachelor's degree in life sciences or engineering
Based in Northern California within short driving distance from South San Francisco and ability to fly to Oregon
5+ years' experience in MABS/ ADC/ Cell and Gene Therapy process development, clinical & commercial through fill finish
5+ years field sales experience, or customer facing with laboratory/process-based manufacturing in Life Science
Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiation skills
Understanding of biological drug development and application process within multiple modalities (MABS, ADCs, Cell and Gene therapies)
Hands-on knowledge and proactive usage of Salesforce (SFDC)
Travel requirements: international and domestic travel will be required for training and commercial purposes—up to 30% overnight
