Santa Ana, CA (Hybrid – onsite Tuesday & Wednesday) Job Summary
The Scoping Designer supports utility design projects by performing data entry and creating accurate scoping documentation for electrical distribution systems. This role focuses on measuring and documenting existing cable and conductor lengths, entering project data into internal systems, and producing detailed scoping drawings and maps using PDF editing and GIS tools. Key Responsibilities
Perform data entry related to PIF scoping, including cable/conductor measurements
Create and update scoping drawings, diagrams, and distribution maps
Enter and maintain project data in MDI and/or C55 systems
Utilize Scope Mapping Tool and ArcGIS (or similar GIS platforms) to interpret utility mapping data
Edit and mark up PDFs to document accurate field and design information
Ensure all scoping documentation meets accuracy and quality standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience with
PDF editing tools
Experience reading and interpreting
utility mapping data
Working knowledge of
ArcGIS
or similar GIS platforms
Experience with
electric utility design
or distribution systems
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
