The Director of Building Envelope Growth is a Seller/Doer role responsible for business development efforts that align with the company’s strategic priorities and will operate as a Senior Consultant for large projects/clients to provide technical consultation, design support, and project management. Reporting to the National Growth Leader this role drives client acquisition, fosters strategic partnerships, and expands the company’s market presence across public and private sectors in the Building Envelope market. The Director of Building Envelope Growth works closely with national and regional BD Managers, executive leadership, operational teams, and technical experts to build relationships, shape pursuits, support clients, and support long-term growth initiatives. Work with the 90+ National MSA clients to expand services to include Building Envelope. Responsibilities

Lead strategic business development efforts across key markets in the Building Envelope space such as Data Centers, or large public agencies (K-12, Higher Education, Municipal and State agencies). Identify and pursue new client relationships and contract opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and market research. Develop and execute client pursuit plans that align with company capabilities, growth objectives, and market trends. Collaborate with regional and technical leaders to develop account strategies and influence the development of tailored solutions for prospective clients. Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations to enhance brand visibility and build relationships Lead or support pre-positioning efforts, including opportunity tracking, team building, and proposal strategy in coordination with marketing and proposal teams Support contract negotiations, teaming agreements, and pricing strategy for key pursuits Support building envelope design across all phases of the building design process, from Schematic Design through Construction Administration. Conceptualize building envelope design solutions and define performance criteria for roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall, and window systems. Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design intent, performance criteria, and project status. Peer review construction documents and evaluate building envelope performance. Conduct physical assessments of existing client buildings and prepare assessment reports to support budgeting for future roofing or building envelope projects. Perform forensic field investigations of failing building envelope systems and document findings. Provide overall project management, including scheduling, coordination, and client communication. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive business development experience, preferably in the A/E/C, environmental consulting, or infrastructure industry. Proven track record of building client relationships and securing contracts with public agencies, private sector clients, or utility/infrastructure owners. Deep understanding of the sales cycle for professional services, including pre-positioning, capture planning, and proposal development. Strong business acumen with the ability to understand technical services and translate them into client-focused solutions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Experience with CRM platforms and business development reporting tools. Ability to travel regularly to client sites, industry events, and company offices across the region or country. Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience in building envelope design, inspections, building construction, or QA/QC 5+ years of progressive business development experience, preferably in the Building Envelope space Proven track record of building client relationships and securing contracts with public agencies, private sector clients, or utility/infrastructure owners; Deep understanding of the sales cycle for professional services, including pre-positioning, capture planning, and proposal development; Strong business acumen with the ability to understand technical services and translate them into client-focused solutions; Professional Engineer or AIA (Registered Architect) preferred. Licensed professional with the ability to sign and seal drawings. Strong knowledge of building envelope systems, including roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, and fenestration. Demonstrated experience preparing technical specifications and reviewing construction documents. Ability to travel regularly to client sites, industry events, and company offices across the region or country. Certifications such as ABAA Certified Inspector, RRO (Registered Roof Observer), RRC, or BECx Travel Requirements

This position requires travel, approximately 60% or more of the time, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work. Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring flexibility to work effectively from both a professional office and work site setting. On-Site Office Requirements:

Work is performed at a desk for extended periods using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment in a climate-controlled office environment. Regular in-person communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders is required. Physical demands may include sitting for long durations, occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 15 pounds.

Field Environment:

Work at outdoor sites including wetlands, forests, grasslands, construction zones, and undeveloped land. Travel on foot across uneven, rugged, or obstructed terrain, sometimes in areas inaccessible by vehicle. Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, or sun. Possible presence of insects, animals, or natural and man-made hazards in field environments.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry between 35–75 lbs. of equipment or samples over distances up to 75 feet. Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate lab and field equipment for extended periods. Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and balance as needed during both lab and fieldwork. Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats in varied environments, often while wearing PPE. Ability to use sensory capabilities to see (including close and distant vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus) and smell for observation and safety purposes
