Overview
Forest Lake Academy (FLA) is one of the largest Adventist high schools in the North American Division and is located in Apopka, Florida, eight miles north of Orlando. The school offers grades 9-12 to nearly 400 students and shares the campus with Forest Lake Education Center, a pre-k-8th-grade school with about 670 students. By this fall, the school will have completed an extensive expansion project creating renewed energy on campus with new facilities. Forest Lake Academy is located near AdventHealth Hospitals, the Adventist Health System headquarters, and attractions in Orlando and the beaches. FLA is seeking a full-time caring, dynamic, engaging, creative, and student-centered high school innovation instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. The school has one of the most effective and comprehensive innovation programs in the denomination. The innovation candidate should be familiar with: Competency-based education Project-based learning Scrum The Lean Start Up method Design Thinking Robotics Physical programming and coding Experience with Python and Scratch preferred Laser cutters, 3D printers, graphic design software, microcontroller programming software, and 3D design software The ability to create lesson plans to meet the needs of a diverse student population Responsibilities and expectations
The ideal candidate should be able to work with a variety of students in a multicultural environment and be committed to developing and growing innovation and creativity programs. They must prepare students to participate in competitions and other learning opportunities. Effective communication with colleagues, administration, and parents is vital.
