About The Role
We\'re looking for a
Staff Product Designer
to help define what great design looks like at Crosby. You\'ll report directly to our co-founder and CTO and work as a peer to our product and engineering leads, with the autonomy to set design standards and shape how we build. You\'ll work directly with our founders, our founding product lead, our founding designer, and a rapidly growing engineering team to shape Crosby\'s products from the ground up. You\’ll be responsible for our entire customer facing experience, starting with bringing our customer-facing platform and product from 0 to 1. You\'ll lead the design of our first external product, working directly with clients and internal stakeholders to research and identify core user problems, prioritize features and milestones, and help define what Crosby looks like as a product and a business. You\'ll also work closely with our internal customers (our lawyers) to continue evolving the AI-powered tools they use every day.

You're excited about AI as a design tool and material. You have a point of view on how AI changes the way we design products. You love leveraging the latest AI tools (Claude Code, V0, and more) for prototyping. You\'d rather jump in and play around yourself than wait for eng to build something, and you\'re eager to push boundaries on what human-AI collaboration can look like.
What you\'ll do
Lead design for our first customer-facing platform, from early research through shipped product Own end-to-end design for core product experiences, collaborating closely with the founding product lead to drive strategy across multiple product surfaces Partner with strategic customers to deeply understand workflows and translate insights into product direction Collaborate closely with engineering to ship high-quality work quickly Raise the bar on design craft across the company and advocate for design at the leadership level
What we\'re looking for
5+ years of product design experience, with multiple 0 to 1 shipped products you\'re proud of A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual craft and clear product thinking Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action Interest in working with or learning more about AI/ML and the legal space Excellent communication skills, both visual and verbal Based in NYC or willing to relocate. We are open to hybrid, but value regular in-person collaboration at our light-filled and fun office in downtown NYC.

Experience at early-stage startups (Series A/B) Experience with complex, workflow-heavy products (B2B, enterprise, or productivity tools preferred) Experience building and scaling design systems Background working with AI/ML products
Compensation
$210k-$270k salary plus equity.
