This role requires a full-time onsite presence in Durham, NC

Job Summary The Real Estate Paralegal supports the real estate development team in a fast-paced environment. This role combines substantive real estate paralegal responsibilities with high-level administrative support, helping manage transactions, due diligence, entitlements, contracts, and corporate records while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and comfortable managing multiple development projects, and transactions simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and coordinate real estate documents including:
Easements, CC&Rs, and development agreements
Closing documents and exhibits
Rent Commencement Memos
Manage misc. real estate documents through execution
Assist with acquisition and disposition due diligence, including title, survey, environmental, zoning, and entitlement documentation
Maintain organized transaction files, data rooms, and closing checklists
Coordinate with outside counsel, title companies, lenders, brokers, and consultants
Entitlements & Development Coordination
Support land use and entitlement processes, including tracking approvals, conditions, and deadlines
Organize materials for public hearings, municipal submissions, and agency coordination
Track post-approval obligations and compliance items
Workflow & Operations
Track deadlines across multiple transactions and projects
Maintain trackers for contracts, entitlements, closings, and compliance
Anticipate team needs and proactively resolve administrative and documentation issues
Serve as a central coordination point between legal, development, finance, and operations

Required Qualifications
Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor’s degree preferred
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in real estate, legal, development, or project finance support roles
Experience supporting real estate transactions or development projects strongly preferred
In depth understanding of real estate documents and development workflows
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Adobe Suite, and document management systems
Preferred Experience
Proficiency in Salesforce
Experience with real estate development, land use, or in-house legal team
Familiarity with title, escrow, and closing processes
Experience working with outside counsel and public agencies
