Overview
The Leasing Agent will be involved in all aspects of leasing and day-to-day operations of 174 residential apartments across three properties. This role requires strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. The Leasing Agent is responsible for leasing activity, tenant relations, marketing, and administrative assistance to the Director of Property Management. Responsibilities
Market available apartments by advertising vacancies, coordinating outreach, managing referrals, and supporting mass mailings or special projects. Respond to leasing inquiries and communicate with prospective and current tenants via phone, email, and messaging platforms. Schedule and conduct property tours. Process rental applications and maintain accurate prospect, applicant, and resident records in the property management system. Prepare and execute residential leases and renewals; coordinate move-ins and move-outs. Generate and maintain leases, renewals, reports, resident files, and required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Track open receivables and review delinquency reports with the Director of Property Management. Coordinate with maintenance by submitting and escalating work orders, including notifying the team of emergency issues. Address tenant concerns, inspect vacant units, and coordinate necessary repairs. Enforce property rules, company policies, and adhere to NYS Fair Housing regulations while providing consistent, equitable service to all applicants and residents. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience
High School Diploma with 1-3 years customer service and/or sales experience. Previous experience in apartment leasing is a plus. Retail, hospitality or customer-focused experience is desirable. Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Valid driver’s license with no major restrictions. Ability to work weekends or extended hours as needed. Position requires standing, walking and climbing stairs.
