The

Associate Director, Budget Operations and Systems , reports to the Director, University Budgets and directs and oversees all activities associated with the preparation and ongoing fiscal management of the University’s Operating Budget, currently at $1.5B; acts as a primary liaison to senior members of the University administration including Finance, Human Resources, President’s Office, Provost, and Executive VP divisions; leads the preparation of financial materials for the quarterly Board of Trustees and Finance and Audit Committee meetings, including the University’s annual Operating Budget; is the primary Finance division representative for onboarding new schools and program initiatives; and provides supervision and direction for a team of six including two direct professional staff members.

The Associate Director also oversees the University\'s annual merit review process including calculation of all salary reserve balances and the subsequent data load into the position management system, and helps to identify and resolve any issues that arise. Lastly, this position directs and oversees system support on behalf of the Budget Office coordinating with the Controller’s Office, Financial Management Systems and Information Technology Services regarding recommendations for new systems and modifications to existing systems including testing plans and approval signoffs. This is an in-office position. Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $140,850 to $176,050; salary commensurate with relevant experience. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is required; master’s degree in business administration is preferred. Minimum of seven years of experience in financial and budget analysis, preferably within a higher education environment and background in computer applications development, especially in the utilization of relational databases and query language technology. Position requires use of both PeopleSoft Financials and HR applications, as well as Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI, to manage funding, provide reporting, and create schedules that assist with key University management decisions. Demonstrated managerial and supervisory experience is also necessary. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working across teams and departments. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under tight deadlines, and remain flexible during peak periods; occasional evenings/weekends may be required to meet specific project deadlines.
