Discover your exciting role The Director EHS works with and advises business line leadership and field personnel ensuring implementation of the company’s Incident Free Workplace Culture.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

Develops, Compiles and maintains Health, Environmental, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with legislative and Company requirements

Manages site based safety employees and personnel through a matrix organization

Identifies safety related training requirements for all designated Global employees

Leads implementing Company Global Best Practice / Best Known Methods

Provides expert guidance to Company management regarding EHS issues

Supports new work pursuits, including preparing safety prequalification and client presentations

Supports new project start up

Assists in design and implementation of safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions, utilizing knowledge of engineering technology, industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, industrial health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices

Supports and advises project management in the effective implementation of EHS policies and procedures

Facilitates training as necessary

Works closely with regional and site operational management to address issues, perform RCAs and drive continuous improvement

Facilitates the Company objective of maintaining an “Incident Free Workplace”, promoting safety awareness and ownership in the designated Region

Maintains contact and coordinates with client safety organizations

Develops project safety plans and specifications

Ensures project management risk assessments and activity related hazards are completed

Undertakes formal auditing of Company workplaces to gauge compliance with Company EHS policies and procedures. Audits for a successful safety culture. Coaches where and when needed

Supports Hazardous Waste Management program ensuring compliance to local legislation

Other duties as assigned

Show your expertise

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or an applied science field preferred

Must have one of the following Professional Certifications/License (or country equivalent):

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

Professional Engineer License (PE)

15+ years of experience

Facility Operations safety experience required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Exceptional organization and coordination skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must have excellent English skills, secondary language skills in German, Malay, Mandarin or Tamil is a plus

Travel Requirement - 25% with occasional spikes to 50%
