JOB SUMMARY The Marketing Coordinator serves as the department’s primary owner of digital content, web presence, and digital media for Ophthalmology across all sites and programs. This role supports the development and execution of departmental marketing and digital communication strategies, including management of social media platforms, website content, multimedia features, and program announcements. This position collaborates closely with the Department Chair, program leadership, Institutional Web Services, and the Office of Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs (CMPA) to coordinate web and editorial initiatives. The Marketing Coordinator ensures that all digital communications are accurate, engaging, and aligned with institutional branding, marketing standards, and guidelines to enhance departmental visibility and outreach. JOB DUTIES Serves as the key member of the marketing team. Recommends and implements strategies to achieve marketing goals for assigned programs, products, or services. Develops and distributes e-communications among partners, members, and others. Performs one or more of the following marketing functions:

Web blogs or other digital marketing Development or review and update of the marketing infrastructure which may include one or more database systems, intranet, and external website. Develops, plans, and coordinates the development and production of marketing and publicity materials (press releases) and campaigns, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met Conceptualizes, writes, and edits high profile or high visibility marketing materials which may include book jacket copy, blogs, or other web material Conducts market research, analyzes results, and develops marketing strategies based on findings.

Editorial project lead on the website; develops content project plans in collaboration with the Program Directors and Administrative Core; writes, edits, and maintains up-to-date program content and collaborates with institutional Web Services team to publish date content on the external website.

Manages and oversees the production of content for website, online promotions, ad banners, and other related material.

Represents and actively participates in monthly meetings/calls and national meetings. May participate in recommending new services and determining new markets. Performs other duties as assigned.
