We are seeking an experienced, driven, and relationship-focused
Account Executive
to join our sales team in New York City. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in the city specialty market who thrives on building long-term partnerships, driving revenue, and managing accounts from market appointments through order fulfillment.
The Account Executive will be responsible for maintaining and growing a portfolio of key accounts and specialty stores, while working cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth execution across all stages of the sales cycle. This position requires a balance of strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and hands-on account management.
Overview Areas of Responsibility:
Maintain, cultivate, and grow strong relationships with key accounts and city specialty stores
Manage all aspects of market preparation and execution, including appointment scheduling, presentations, order confirmations, and sample coordination
Drive business growth by identifying sales opportunities such as reorders, selling contests, and expansion within existing accounts
Coordinate and respond to all customer service requests in a timely, professional, and profitable manner
Prepare and update fiscal and seasonal selling reports on a weekly basis, identifying bestsellers, trends, and growth opportunities
Partner with Merchandising and IT teams to ensure NuOrder is accurate, up to date, and properly set up each season
Maintain accurate and detailed ATS reporting to support sales planning and forecasting
Work closely with Customer Service and Product Management to ensure the order book is accurate, current, and aligned with on-time shipping expectations
Collaborate with the Senior Sales Director and Planner to monitor seasonal budgets and performance against goals
Provide ad hoc support to senior leadership, including the Senior Sales Director and Division President, as needed
Requirements
Strong understanding of the city select and specialty retail market
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with city specialty stores preferred
Proven experience using and managing accounts through NuOrder
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining ownership of accounts
