Job Summary The Technical Writer is responsible for partnering with business operations teams across the organization to develop and maintain clear and concise operational documentation for various roles within all departments of the organization. This role maintains the document management process and repository system, as well as the lifecycle of creating, implementing, and maintaining current documentation and governance across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
Facilitate process mapping with business leaders to define and update end-to-end processes
Facilitate and oversee governance procedures for business approvals
Support sound operational decisions through gap analysis and knowledge sharing of all operational documents to support understanding and cross functional continuity of processes across the business teams
Develop and maintain process documentation according to approved style guides and best practices (workflows, job aids, user guides, reference guides, etc.)
Ensure documentation adheres to regulatory standards and internal quality guidelines
Create visual aids to improve understanding of complex concepts
Revise and update process documentation based on feedback, process improvement, or regulatory standards
Review all documents and attachments to ensure consistency between and within documents. Following up with document owners when inconsistencies are identified
Coordinate, track, review and ensure timely completion of high-quality documents
Maintain a periodic review process and follow-up with document owners to review their procedures, ensuring relevance and accuracy of process, initiating changes as required
Manage the document management process and repository system by coordinating the review, approval, release, and publication process
Function as resource on all format and style related issues to ensure consistency within documents prepared by the Knowledge and Document Management team
Collaborate with Learning & Development to initiate training of released documents
Qualifications & Minimum Requirements Experience :
3+ years of experience in technical writing
Ability to effectively navigate complex business environment with multiple stakeholder groups
Understanding technical concepts and ability to translate them into clear documentation
Concrete understanding of document and version control concepts and best practices
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in documentation tools (Visio, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
Proven skill in leading analysis and discovery conversations and development of complex process documentation
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels within the organization
Excellent follow-up and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a demanding environment
Familiarity with user-centered documentation practices
Ability to coordinate and lead process discuss meetings
Experience with software and healthcare IT systems
Understanding of content management systems, such as SharePoint
Education and certification
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or relevant field
