For more information and resources, please visit our .Ann Harris5420 Non Work Study, IT - Information Technology2026-02-06-# **JOB PURPOSE**Works to assist the Information Security team to ensure the security of institutional data, systems, and networks by enhancing security infrastructure, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen the cybersecurity program.In this role, you will apply academic and technical skills related to information security, IT and data analytics to a real-world work environment by supporting security operations, creating clear reports/dashboards from large datasets, building and producing documentation to improve processes and outcomes.# **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Assist Information Security team with security assessment and risk management which includes evaluation of current controls to ensure compliance, recommend and implement tools to assess and enhance effectiveness of the security program, and collaborate with IT teams to achieved prioritized efforts.* Assist team with threat detection and incident response utilizing SOC platform and tools to detect and remediate threats.* Assist with security-related data work by analyzing large datasets, identifying actionable insights, and creating clear reports/dashboards* Work with cross-functional teams to refine the institution's cybersecurity program, develop and update documentation, and assist with stakeholder communication.* Fulfill other duties as assigned# **SCHEDULE*** Work shifts available between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Mondays - Fridays* Student must be able to work 2 - 6 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays# **RATE OF PAY*** $19 / hour# **WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT*** Federal or L&C Work Study desired# **OTHER REQUIREMENTS*** A demonstrated passion for cybersecurity and information technology* Understanding of vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) technologies.* Interest in learning of vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) technologies.* Have technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex security issues.* Extremely skilled in time management and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.* Superior ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools, adapting to changing security landscapes.* Extremely capable of using documentation and online resources to self-educate and stay current on security trends and solutions.* A friendly, welcoming attitude* Ability to work independently* Excellent attention-to-detail, follow-through, customer service, and professionalism* Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills# **Career Readiness Competencies Developed in This Role*** **Technology**: Use digital tools and technologies to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.* **Critical Thinking**: Identify and analyze problems, evaluate solutions, and make informed decisions.* **Professionalism**: Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and ethical behavior in the workplace.Lewis & Clark College adheres to a nondiscriminatory policy with respect to educational programs, activities, employment, and admission.
