The Edward Jones Generations team provides an end-to-end, high-net-worth client experience by partnering with our branch teams to provide ongoing client services including holistic financial planning, tax and estate planning services via trusted third parties, plan implementation via expanding sets of Edward Jones products and services, and ongoing reporting and support. Senior Estate Strategists leverage the extensive resources of our home office and external third party partnerships to serve high-net-worth clients with complex needs. The Investment Consultation team partners with financial advisors and clients to deliver the high-quality and actionable Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) required to meet our client's wealth management needs. Through detailed analysis, the team develops and guides the implementation of customized investment solutions connecting goals outlined in client's financial plan to portfolio strategy. Although this position is designated as remote, regular travel to our Grand Rapids, MI location will be required. The role may also involve occasional travel to our St. Louis, MO and Tempe, AZ home office locations. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in or near the Grand Rapids, MI area. What You Will Do
The Edward Jones Generations - Senior Portfolio Strategist is an investment specialist who brings the client's financial plan to life by leading the development of the investment plan and ensuring alignment with goals and expectations. The Senior Portfolio Strategist are part of the durable, client-facing team that works closely with the Financial Advisor, Senior and Associate Planners and other members of a diverse matrixed team to ensure a world class experience is delivered. Key Responsibilities include: Independently and consistently provide the right level of support across the client journey based on the client's needs and unique situation including the creation of tailored investment advice and strategies, portfolio analysis and construction, and implementation. Support financial advisors and clients with the highly complex investment portfolio scenarios to deliver more personalized, tax-efficient, and robust portfolio construction and portfolio transition advice (i.e., asset allocation, tax minimization, optimal investments, asset location), in alignment with firm advice and guidance. Provide tailored, dedicated, and ongoing expert level consultations that meet the needs of our high-net-worth clients based on client objectives, risk profile, account mandates, and personal preferences Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives within the WMC department and across the WMAS division, in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholder groups, that enables the firm's evolution to deliver strong goals-based advice, financial planning, and asset management services. Manage significant branch team and client interactions directing resources to achieve the right results. Possess and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, competitors, and regulatory changes and assess how these themes impact our product offerings, the implementation of firm advice and guidance, and the team's ability to deliver the personalization sought by current and prospective clients Achieve results through others, by serving as an informal leader and mentor to develop newer associates on the team This position is known internally as a Senior Investment Consultant What Experience You Need
Bachelor's degree required Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses required within 6 months of hire 6-10 years of experience in financial services or related field Travel requirements will vary based on the branch’s in-person needs and the candidate’s location. Expect initial travel commitment ranging from 25% to 75% Advanced technical aptitude, analytical, and critical skills Deep, expansive subject matter expertise on economic, investment, and portfolio management strategies and concepts Advanced skills in systems thinking, planning and organizing, relationship building, collaboration, critical thinking, project management Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to provide concise, relevant market commentary and periodically explain complex investment terms/concepts to branch teams and directly to clients What Could Set You Apart Series 24 license Master's degree Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases and wealth management software tools (i.e., Aladdin Wealth, Morningstar, FactSet) Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
