Position: Junior FF&E Interior Designer - Hospitality Focus
Role Overview
The Junior FF&E Interior Designer supports the design team in the selection, specification, and documentation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment for hospitality projects. Working under the guidance of Senior Designers, the role contributes to creating high-quality, functional, and visually compelling hospitality interiors. Key Responsibilities
FF&E Design and Specification: Assist in selecting and specifying FF&E for hospitality projects. Support Senior Designers in preparing mood boards, concept presentations, FF&E schedules & specifications, creating physical finish packages, and reviewing initial FF&E shop drawings. Research hospitality-specific furniture, materials, finishes, and suppliers to support design and budget requirements. Project Support: Prepare and maintain detailed FF&E documentation, including purchase orders, budgets, and inventory lists. Work on assigned design phases. Support the preparation of drawings, specifications, reports, and presentations under the Senior Designer\'s supervision. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for pricing, samples, and procurement support. Collaboration and Coordination: Assist with project administration tasks and coordination activities. Maintain project files, folders, and image libraries in accordance with office standards. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field. Experience: 2-3 years of experience in interior design, focusing on FF&E design and specification for hospitality projects. Familiarity with and knowledge of various design styles, materials, sourcing, and industry trends specific to the hospitality industry. Experience with specification writing software is a plus. Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics in hospitality design. Good understanding of the interior design process, including Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, Documentation, Procurement, and Installation. Attributes: Creative, organized, and design-driven. Proactive and eager to learn. Collaborative and relationship-focused. Results-oriented with a positive attitude.
