
CIRCUS ARTS DIRECTOR
We’re seeking a fun, enthusiastic, mature individual who is a professionally trained performer with experience operating an instructional trapeze & circus program for children of all ages and abilities. This position requires high moral character, strong leadership & management skills, good teaching ability, an outgoing personality, and the ability to be organized & work hard.
The Flying Trapeze staff is comprised of a Director and 5-6 Trapeze Instructors, who have documented experience teaching Flying Trapeze and/or Circus Arts to children of all ages and abilities.
Instruction is geared to the camper's individual skill level, and is patient and thorough with due regard for both safety and enjoyment.
Flyin g Trapeze & Circus Arts Programs : The programs include instruction in flying, getting caught, spanish web, corde lisse, aerial silks, lyra, and cradle. Circus Arts include diablo, juggling, plate spinning, devil sticks, unicycling, acrobatics, clowning, rolling globe, and stilt walking. Both programs feature performances.

Responsibilities
Ensure top-quality instruction at all skill levels.
Campers enjoy themselves and experience success.
Organize & supervise Flying Trapeze Performances.
Manage & supervise all instructors.
Maintain high-level safety standards.
Care for and maintain the camp's activity equipment.
Keep the program area clean, neat, and organized.
Genuinely enjoy living & working with kids.
Possess a good sense of humor, and the ability to laugh!
Conduct training sessions with instructors.
Evaluate and qualify each instructor at camp prior to the camper's arrival.
Enforce the principles & policies, as well as the objectives & philosophy of Camp Cayuga.
Certification in first-aid and CPR is recommended.
