Job Definition The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, increasing market penetration, and achieving budget goals within the Independent and Specialty channels across all brands in the designated region. This role entails managing independent sales agencies, developing new accounts, and optimizing sales and distribution strategies. Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager oversees showroom and trade show execution to ensure seamless sales operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Account & Territory Management: Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, utilizing Nspire, Tableau, and internal reporting tools.

Collaborate with the National Sales Manager and Key Account Director to identify and secure new accounts and expand distribution within independent and key/mass channels.

Develop and implement strategic growth plans for high-potential accounts in partnership with sales representatives.

Ensure continuous sales agency growth through targeted training and development initiatives.

Conduct quarterly territory reviews with agency owners and senior leadership to assess performance and optimize sales strategies.

Lead sales team realignment discussions to maximize territory coverage and efficiency.

Showroom & Trade Show Leadership

Organize and direct showroom activities to ensure an optimized sales environment and seamless order execution.

Develop and execute a structured trade show management plan to maximize order flow, rep engagement, and customer interaction.

Oversee staffing, scheduling, and follow-ups to drive post-show sales conversions.

Provide daily support to reps, principals, and agencies, ensuring timely responses and strategic guidance.

Act as a key resource for sales teams, offering insights and solutions to enhance performance.

Implement a ride-along coaching program to mentor new and struggling reps, reinforcing best sales practices.

Conduct quarterly sales training sessions focused on product knowledge, industry trends, and effective selling strategies.

Develop and maintain a best-practices guide for sales reps, including an updated Sales Training Manual and New Hire Onboarding program.

Buying Group Leadership & Growth

Lead engagement efforts with key buying groups, including Gourmet Catalog, Bixby, and The Boutique Hub.

Develop store-level strategies, marketing materials, and exclusive promotions to drive sales within buying group members.

Ensure sales increase in buying group sales through customized programs and targeted initiatives. Organize special events, such as Atlanta Market activations, to boost visibility and sales.

Leverage sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to shape regional sales strategies.

Conduct quarterly performance reviews with the National Sales Manager to assess rep effectiveness, market trends, and customer engagement.

Set clear goals for sales reps and agencies, including a target of 10 new accounts per quarter in underdeveloped territories.

Develop and implement an Account Retention Strategy, working with agencies to re-engage and win back accounts each quarter.

Individual Account Growth & Management

Establish and personally manage 5-10 high-potential accounts as house accounts to drive direct sales growth.

Work closely with key customers to strengthen relationships and maximize sales opportunities.

Ensure continuous pipeline development for new account acquisitions and retention strategies.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

5-7 years of sales experience, preferably in home decor, gift, or related industries.

Proven track record of sales leadership, account management, and business development

Skills:

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to engage customers, sales reps, and internal stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and CRM tools.

Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.

Ability to travel frequently for customer appointments, trade shows, and sales meetings.

Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset to drive growth and improve sales processes.
