Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership to execute the company's underwriting framework and strategy for assigned lines of business
Analyze premium and loss data to ensure long-term profitable growth and make recommendations for improvements
Develop and communicate best practices and underwriting guidance across the organization
Evaluate complex underwriting risks and provide guidance to branch teams on acceptability of business
Prepare and teach underwriting workshops and seminars for the underwriting team
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business or insurance-related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum of eight years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience
Strong underwriting judgment and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report required for occasional travel
Preferred qualifications
Staff underwriting experience within assigned line of business or business segment
Insurance designations such as AU, CIC, or CPCU
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently
Proficiency in computer knowledge and Internet skills
Experience speaking effectively before groups
