Position Overview Do you have a background in telemarketing, sales, and customer service? The Illinois Lottery is seeking to hire a Telemarketing Representative with the Sales Division. The individual in this position will work as a team member, providing customer service, guidance, and direction to Lottery retailers to ensure they receive information regarding instant ticket games, prizes, and orders. Essential Functions

Via telephone, maintains regular contact with agents to solicit instant ticket orders and to forecast and fill product needs.

Maintains Retailer Hotline Instant Ticket Ordering system files.

Interprets and applies the laws, rules, regulations, and policies of the Illinois State Lottery.

Analyzes individual retailer's accounting and operational needs and provides recommended solutions.

Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion or four years of high school.

Requires one (1) year of clerical experience, in an office setting, or two (2) years of telemarketing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefers two (2) years of experience utilizing extensive knowledge of telemarketing functions.

Prefers two (2) years of experience utilizing the knowledge of general business practices and retail operations.

Prefers two (2) years of experience diplomatically communicating with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures.

Prefers two (2) years of experience utilizing computer systems, software, hardware, or other automated equipment utilized in agency operations.

Prefers two (2) years of experience prioritizing assignments and meeting critical deadlines.

Prefers the ability to interpret the state Lottery laws, rules and regulations.

Prefers the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in resolving problem matters.

Prefers the ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public and agency personnel.

Prefers two (2) years of experience analyzing and identify problems in accounts and operations, and to determine appropriate solutions.

Prefers the ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel at a beginner level.

Requires the ability to work from home, in a quiet environment, with an internet connection.

Requires the ability to utilize state issued equipment.
