Customer Support Specialist

This position is responsible for being the first line of contact for Harcros. This may include email, mail, telephone, web portal, or in person by internal & external customers. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Handling a large volume of emails, phone calls, and sales order processing. Acting as the liaison between customers and internal & external associates. Processing orders for material or merchandise received from customers. Interacting with customers & suppliers via email, phone call, and web portal. Performing general office duties such as filing, ordering office supplies, sorting and delivering mail, and more. Entering orders into the computer, checking inventory levels, generating shipping papers, and checking customer credit. Constant communication with customers regarding their order status. Being the point of contact for external & internal departments such as customers, suppliers, warehouse, shipping & freight carriers. Checking orders for accuracy. Gathering & attaching required additional documentation. Preparing & processing invoices, issuing credit memos, and assisting Credit Dept. by checking customer payment status. Processing vendor invoices, freight bills, product returns, freight claims, and corrected billings. Maintaining signature file of additional forms for customer order release. Scheduling production of product as necessary. Coordinating shipments to other branch facilities and customers. Experience and education criteria: High school diploma or general education degree. 1-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other qualifications: Ability to use and knowledge of personal computer and related software. Ability to operate common office machines. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
