Reporting to the Director of HR, the
Senior Human Resources Specialist
provides professional HR services to staff and faculty and manages the coordination, administration, and delivery of HR programs. The role supports the director in integrating HR initiatives and programs with business plans to achieve the college\'s strategic goals and operational objectives. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that employees have access to high-quality training necessary for increasing their knowledge, skills, and professional development. Performs related duties as required. Responsibilities
Manages and coordinates the full-time hiring process for faculty and non-faculty vacancies. Assists with the hiring of other college vacancies. Partners with Talent Acquisition to fulfill post-hire needs. Participates in the interviewing and selection process as required. Develops, coordinates, facilitates, and maintains a comprehensive, sustainable, and efficient training and development program for senior leaders, managers, hiring managers, staff, and faculty. Assists the Director of HR in addressing employee and labor relations issues including progressive discipline, reductions in force, and compliance with collective bargaining agreements and Board policies. Helps manage and monitor the campus succession plan. Conducts in-depth evaluation of professional development plans and materials to ensure high quality. Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to process and execute the monthly board submission process for vacancies. Coaches and counsels managers on performance management, employee relations issues, adherence to collective bargaining agreements, and HR processes and procedures. Interprets and explains HR policies and regulations relating to employee and labor relations, salary administration, leaves of absence, and related employment matters to employees. Consults with management to develop and implement personnel processes and procedures. Analyzes HR workforce trends and identifies areas for process improvements, with opportunities to improve campus HR processes, efficiencies, and procedures. Assists in delivering HR programs in areas including learning and organizational development, performance management, employee relations, and labor relations. Completes HR Specialist duties in the absence of another HR Specialist. Delivers high levels of customer service when responding to inquiries regarding policy, pay, and other HR procedures. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. At least one year of full-time direct human resources experience. Three years of work experience in human resources, customer service, administration or related areas. PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SCP desirable. Familiarity and/or experience with PeopleSoft HCM or talent management systems (i.e. Taleo) highly desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of human resources management principles. Knowledge and understanding of HRIS systems. Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong partnerships with senior executives and all levels of the workforce. Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive situations. Salary and Benefits
SALARY RANGE: $70,251-$77,000 ANNUALLY Offered salary will be determined by the applicant\'s education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity. Benefits information is found at https://www.ccc.edu/departments/Benefits/ Schedule
