
Overview
Working as Full-time Indirect Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the tax compliance functions relating to sales and use tax, personal property tax, and business license processing, as well as other analytical and administrative projects. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
Responsibilities
Coordinating and preparing filing of returns (sales and use tax, personal property tax, and business licenses) for domestic operations
Gathering, organizing, and analyzing documents and data related to external audits of sales and use tax
Assisting Fastenal branches, customers, and others with correct sales and use tax exemption requirements and other tax questions
Reviewing financial and operational data
Working to identify and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency
Completing special projects and other administrative tasks as required
Required Position Qualifications
Possess or are working towards a Business/Accounting related degree OR have administrative work experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
Work independently as well as in a team environment

Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Compensation The base pay range for this position is $36,000 - 45,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
